Conventional Curtainwall with Fully Cap Cover

Aluminium mullion and transom curtain wall, closed with a pressure-plate and cover-cap system.

The 3D assembly shows the capped mullion and transom grid that defines this system: continuous vertical cover caps
expressing the primary grid, horizontal pressure plates mechanically retaining the glazing, and insulated glass units
seated on continuous rubber gaskets throughout.

System Reading
  • Mullion cover cap — Continuous vertical exterior cap expresses the primary grid.
  • Transom pressure plate — Horizontal cap mechanically retains the glazing at the transom.
  • Insulated glazing — Blue-tinted double glazing seats against continuous rubber gaskets.
  • Concealed fastening — Central fasteners clamp the pressure plate back to the carrier profile.
Key Set-Out — Mullion Section

The mullion section retains two 24 mm insulated glazing units.

Exterior closure:

Cover cap 32373 or 32372 closes the pressure-plate assembly.

Load + Seal Path — Transom Section

The transom section supports the same standard 24 mm IGU.

24 mm IGU —
6 mm glass + 12 mm cavity + 6 mm glass.

Setting block —
Carries glass dead load into the transom.

Glass holder (32491) —
Locates and retains the glazing assembly.

Pressure plate (32374) —
Clamps the insulated glazing mechanically.

Gaskets (235545 / 237583 / 235546) —
Provide continuous compression seals.

Standardised Design

One 24 mm IGU build-up applies throughout the façade. Both the mullion and transom details use the identical 6 mm glass / 12 mm cavity / 6 mm glass configuration — adaptors, gaskets, setting blocks, and pressure plates are matched consistently to this glass thickness across the whole system.
